Spectacular Sedona

So far, Sedona, Arizona is the most beautiful place we have visited.  The thing that makes it so spectacular is the views of red rock formations in nearly every direction you turn. We also took a little excursion to Jerome, Arizona, which is about 40 minutes away.  Jerome is approximately one mile high in elevation and is carved out of a side of a small mountain.  It was founded as a gold, copper and silver mining town.  Now it is know for it's art and unique shops.  Enjoy the pictures!
On our way into Sedona on highway 179 we had to take the requisite "sign" picture.  Just around the corner the red rock formations are breath taking!

See what I mean?!  The camera just doesn't have the same impact as rounding the corner and....bam!  You see this!  And the vistas just keep coming.

Hailey at a side walk cafe in uptown Sedona.  The views were "food" for the eyes and the lunch fare was awesome. We ate a place called Taos.

A late afternoon view from the patio of an ice cream place in uptown Sedona.

Hailey wants one! There are many "Jeep" tour companies that can take you off the beaten paths for some even more spectacular views, if that's possible!  We did not take one, however.  You can read about this tour company at this link: Pink Jeep Tours

Molly and I during one of our early morning walks in Munds Park, Arizona.  We camped here at a place with the unoriginal name of Munds Park RV.  It was okay but, if we had to do it over again, we'd camp in Flagstaff.  Munds Park while closer as the crow flies is not any closer because of the mountain formations making it impossible to drive direct to Sedona.

Easter in Sedona.  Notice we have our dog, Molly with us.  She has had a heck of a time with intestinal issues, which to say the least is NOT FUN in a motor home!  Anyway, we knew we could not leave her alone in the motor home so, we decided to take her along and one of us would stay outside during Sunday Services.  Stacey volunteered and viewed an online sermon before we left.  The girls and I went on in to Wayside Bible Chapel, located in Uptown Sedona, while Stacey and Molly patiently waited outside the entrance.  One lady from the congregation noticed our "split" and Stacey hanging outside.  She invited Stacey AND Molly to come on in to the service.  What a great example of going against the norm and welcoming in Stacey..even with Molly.  Stacey and Molly sat in the back where Molly curled up at her feet and snoozed during the service.  After the service we meet a very nice couple who gave us recommendations for a nice place for lunch, where we could sit outside with Molly.  Thank, you to Wayside Bible Chapel for not only a great Easter message but, walking the walk! The whole town of Sedona, it turns out is very dog friendly...and the people are too!

Hailey again, gets into the picture!  This is the view from where we ate lunch on Easter.

Ah, my beautiful butterflies!  This picture was taken outside of an art gallery in Jerome, Arizona.  Like I mentioned in the opening of this blog, we took a long afternoon trip here.  Notice the bag in Stacey's hand...yes, there were purchases made!  Also, notice Molly is along for the trip too.  Jerome is also very dog friendly and every shop welcomed her. Although a bit liberal for us, it was interesting to see this historic mining town. You can read more about Jerome here:Jerome, Arizona

Okay...there's a trend here.  Hailey is constantly bugging me; "Daddy, take my picture here.  Take my picture with this.  Take my picture over here...."etc, etc, etc. I might have a model on my hands with this one.  Somebody shoot me!  She certainly is photogenic and she is hard to turn down.  Heidi on the other hand I have to practically force her to get in the pictures even though she is a beauty unto herself.  Ah, the life of a Daddy with daughters. By the way, any of you fellas get any ideas towards my daughters...I am well armed and trained:)

Hailey in uptown Sedona.  Good bye beautiful Sedona.  It was, no kidding, like a fairy tale town.  We are off to Flagstaff, Arizona for a solid two days of refitting, resupplying and taking Molly to see a vet.  There are many more of those kind of services available in Flagstaff than in Sedona.  After our short "tactical pause" in Flagstaff, it's off to camp within 1/2 mile of the south rim of the Grand Canyon.  Then we will probably come back down to Flagstaff to explore this neat town.  So far, we love this part of the country.  What beauty.  What a great place to celebrate the Risen King and Lord of Lords, as it seems all creation here points to the heavens.
